Job Description:
Coordinate overall private fundraising and revenue generation, both strategy and execution; bear responsibility for meeting revenue goals; and focus on building unrestricted revenue. Also raise restricted funds for various Hospice initiatives, including special projects and capital and endowment campaigns.
Priority Responsibilites:
- Develop and manage relationships with individual donors and family foundations, in order to raise substantial dollars for Hospice.
- Help all of Hospice, both staff and volunteers, develop a structural capacity and mindset that encourages more and more people of means to see Hospice as a great place for advancing their philanthropic goals. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that Hospice adheres to donor relations best practices, including the implementation of a successful board leadership giving campaign.
- Serve as primary manager for key donors, ensuring that a plan exists and is being executed for maintaining, cultivating and growing our relationship with each of them.
- Constantly develop a pipeline of prospects for individual giving.
Other Duties:
- Establish and implement a corporate fundraising strategy.
- Demonstrate the capacity to manage other development professionals, who will be hired as merited by Hospice revenue growth.
- Stay current with Hospice initiatives and projects, as well as with the major gift field’s best practices and with philanthropy trends that may affect Hospice donor relationships.
- Ensure that donor relationships comply with applicable Hospice policies and guidelines.
Keep all data current in the donor management system, including face-to-face meetings, proposals, agreements, gifts, etc.
- Prepare and monitor goals, performance standards, and budgets.
Job Requirements:
- An authentic passion for the mission of Calvert Hospice and an intrinsic drive to sell it.
- Five or more years of successful fundraising, outside sales, marketing experience, demonstrated ability to accomplish results through highly effective relationship-building skills, and a proven track record in achieving sales/fundraising goals.
- Highly effective organizational, communication, collaboration, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Bachelor’s degree; graduate degree a plus.
- Excellent command of the language, oral and written.
- Knowledge of Calvert Hospice mission and programs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Computer skills – database and desktop publishing.

HOSPICE NURSE
Job Description:
Responsible for implementing the home hospice care program in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of care. The hospice nurse works as case manager.
Priority Responsibilities:
- Serve hospice patients as a registered hospice nurse through admission, assessment and re-assessment activities, providing hospice medical care, case management and supervision of volunteers and hospice aides.
Other Duties:
- Participate in call rotation as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree or B.S. in Nursing
- Licensed as an R.N. by the State of Maryland
- Experience in hospice or home care preferred
- Dependable Transportation
- Basic Computer Skills

SOCIAL WORKER
Job Description:
Provide social work interventions to hospice patients, families and care providers in conjunction with other members of the interdisciplinary team. Assure that the psychosocial aspects of hospice care are addressed.
Job Requirements:
- Licensed by State of Maryland as a Social Worker (LGSW, LCSW or LCSW-C)
- Must have minimum of 2 years experience as a practicing Social Worker
- Must be sensitive to hospice philosophy
- Must possess reliable transportation
- Basic Computer Skills
