I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in “A Lot More Zep” which took place November 19th.  The rock opera concert featuring the music of Led Zeppelin performed by the Sojourner Band raised funds for Calvert Hospice’s bereavement and Transitions programs.  I would especially like to thank Jackie Waymire, the concert director, who put so much time, energy and heart into the show.

This show wouldn’t have been possible without the Sojourner band members: Dale Davis, Jamie Dowell, Gary Pape, Jason Hurley, Bob Spanburgh, Dave Sudduth, Jim Waymire, Pat Willis, and John Willis; the Sojourner songbirds: Lauren Kuhn and Em Waymire; those on the strings and woodwinds: Zack Broach, Janet Jiacinto, and Jessica Willis; the Chesapeake Theatre Company: Josh Glines, Blake Bryant, Carly Geiger, Ben Krause, Andy Peterson, Jackie Waymire, Em Waymire, Josh Cosman, Carol Gagnon, Patty Geiger, Tom Geiger, Janet Jiacinto, Al Kincaid and Jessica Wood; the Chesapeake Youth Players: Calvin Crunkleton, Joey Crunkleton, Melissa Dowell, Colleen Larsen, Clare Prouty Due, Meredith Prouty Due, Zack Sims, and Jack Sudduth; the Troupe Hip Notic belly dancers; the technical and support team: Mickey Hummel, Joe Johnson, Patrick Kleespies, Jeff Phelps, Josh Schneider, and Jessica Wood; stage artists and carpenters: D.B. Justice Enterprises, Tom Geiger, and Al Kincaid; costume coordinators: The Chesapeake Theatre Company and Helenmary Ball; and the house staff: Carol Gagnon and Janis Spanburgh. The number of people involved in the show is absolutely incredible - you all did a wonderful job!

The Ball Family, Lynn Bozman, Jean Bozman, the Calvert County Board of Education, Comcast News Makers, Diana Davis, the Dowell Family, Billy Lavezzo, Sylvia Lawson, Pat O’Brien, Mary Oursler, Sherry and Dale Scott, Janis Spanburgh, the Sudduth Family, This and That Treasures, Jessi Wood, and Janel Young should also be recognized for their support and help with the concert.

Finally, I would like to recognize those from the community who came to the concert – I hope you had a rocking good time! At Calvert Hospice we depend on help from our community to provide the special kind of support that we do to those coping with a serious illness and bereavement services to those facing grief. So, thanks again to everyone involved in the concert, we are deeply grateful for your efforts.

Sincerely,
